Fungi mainly thrive in autumnal temperatures, this is due to the large amount of moisture which helps them to grow. Now in winter there is still moisture however the temperatures are cooler. Luckily, we will still see mushrooms till around the end of winter when it will be to cold for many to survive. As you go about your day make sure you keep an eye out for fungi before the season ends.

Some mushrooms you might find include the snowy wax cap ( as seen above ) or the velvet shank ( as seen below )

Thank you for reading this post, see you next time!

I wanted to know if any of you could figure out it’s name, your challenge is to research this mushroom and discover it’s identity! Are you up for the task, don’t worry if you do not have any identification gear, just sit back and relax.(or go extreme and print up an guide) Though I doubt you’ll do that!

Drawing fungi can be hard but it is always good to try something new. Get your sketch book out and have a go. Make sure you add those small details like gills and maybe you could even shade it in? Have fun with your drawing and add a pretty frame or add a flashy signature at the bottom,

go wild!!!

You could even draw this fungi I found a phew days ago

I am pretty certain it is a Smokey Bracket as it seems the right size, shape, looks the same and it is in the appropriate habitat.

In fact this is it! Fairly easy too find if you ask me as they are around all year and found in a lot of places (old straw bails, manure, compostheaps and rich soil) To be honest I found it in a woodchip pile.
