A Winter for Fungi

It's the start of winter and mushrooms are still thriving. Fungi mainly thrive in autumnal temperatures, this is due to the large amount of moisture which helps them to grow. Now in winter there is still moisture however the temperatures are cooler. Luckily, we will still see mushrooms till around the end of winter when it will be to cold for many to survive. As you go about your day make sure you keep an eye out for fungi before the season ends.


Some mushrooms you might find include the snowy wax cap ( as seen above ) or the velvet shank ( as seen below )
